Time magazine recently named Nussbaum as one of seven 21st-century thinkers who are coming up with "the new ideas that will change the world." She has authored many books, including The Fragility of Goodness: Luck and Ethics in Greek Tragedy and Philosophy, Cultivating Humanity: A Classical Defense of Reform in Liberal Education, Sex & Social Justice, Women and Human Development, and Upheavals of Thought: The Intelligence of Emotions.
Nussbaum's talk is sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and Religion, the offices of the Provost and the Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences, and the New York Council for the Humanities. For more information, contact Craig Duncan at (607) 274-3580.
