Ithaca College Dining Services is excited to invite the entire IC community to its third annual Culinary Showcase on Wednesday, November 17.
The vendor fair is scheduled from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in Emerson Suites. Many vendors will be giving out samples of their products. Also this year, Dining Services has teamed up with other departments on campus, such as the fitness center, to get the word out on the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
At approximately 5:00 pm, the fourth annual Chef's Challenge will begin. The Chef's Challenge is a culinary competition, complete with "play-by-play" coverage (emceed by Kevin English of Lite 97 FM), kitchen-themed décor, a team of judges, and delicious food. But that's not all, students are invited to participate in the hands-on fun by being part of the "teams" that compete. While the featured ingredients are being kept secret, it's sure to be a delicious event for everyone in attendance -- participants and non-participants alike.
New this year will be the Battle of the Zones -- Cupcake Creations Challenge. All attendees of the Chef's Challenge will have an opportunity to showcase their culinary creativity with cupcakes. Fun and excitement is in the air!
These events will be open to the public and free of charge. However, Dining Services is asking that nonperishable canned goods be brought in for those less fortunate. Collection boxes will be at the entrance of Emerson Suites. All donated food will go to Second Harvest, who supports the local Ithaca food pantries.
