Eric Anderson to Speak on How Homophobia Hurts Heterosexuals

Eric Anderson, sociologist and author of Trailblazing: America's First Openly Gay High School Coach and In the Game: Gay Athletes and the Cult of Masculinity will speak on campus on Wednesday, March 23, at 7:00 pm in Textor 102.

Anderson, of SUNY Stony Brook, is one of the nation's experts in understanding the relationship between gay male athletes and sport. He was also featured as "the professor" on the TBS reality show The Real Gilligan's Island which aired in Fall 2004.

Anderson's visit is sponsored by the Department of Sport Management and Media, the Office of Multicultural Affairs Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services, the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, Athletics, and the Diversity Awareness Committee
