The Office of the Bursar joins President Peggy Williams in being deeply saddened by the recent acts of bias on our campus. In order to make it possible for our staff and other community members to attend both our live auction and the Erase the Hate rally, we have made the following changes in our auction times:
Silent auction will run 10:00 am to noon
Live auction will run 1:00-2:00 pm
We are asking those of you who had planned on attending our auction to please still plan to do so. Much time and energy have been spent across campus in planning the event, obtaining donations, and publicizing our worthy causes. We still are determined to earn at least $1000 for each organization. If you are on the fence, maybe our newest item received will tempt you...a signed baseball from Derek Jeter!
We also encourage all community members to please attend the rally. It is important to have our voices heard and to support the efforts of diversity. Ideally, we would like to see you all at both events if possible, but realize that some of you might have to make a choice. If you are really hot after some of our items but want to attend the rally and can't do both, please talk to your friends who are going to the auction and see if someone can bid on your items for you. Bursar's office staff will also be happy to assist you with bidding.
Together we WILL make a difference, both in our College community and in our greater community. Hope to see you Thursday, April 14, at one or both events. The auction will be held in Clark Lounge in the Campus Center. Silent auction and preview will be held from 10:00 am to noon; live auction 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Please support our three worthy charities: Tompkins County SPCA, Alzheimer's Association, and Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative. As always, auction items can be seen online at www.ithaca.edu/bursar/bursarauction and current lists can be viewed at the bursar's office, Job Hall.
