Mead Loop, Journalism, elected to SPJ board

Mead Loop, associate professor and chair of the Journalism Department, was elected to a two-year term as vice president of the Society of Professional Journalists, the nationís largest journalism organization with 10,000 members. He will be responsible for campus chapter affairs nationwide, and serve on the executive committee in charge of SPJ finances and policies. Loop also is co-chair of the grants committee of the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, an $11 million foundation that funds journalism education and professional development for SPJ. Loop serves as the adviser to the Ithaca College chapter of SPJ.
