Temporary Bookstore Help

Contributed by Deborah Merriman on 12/04/2005

Do you know someone in your family or in your neighborhood that would enjoy some challenging temporary work and some extra cash?

There are temporary positions available beginning Saturday, January 14, 2006, and continuing through Friday, January 20, 2006 in the IC Bookstore. Duties include running a cash register, door checking and assisting with stocking shelves and maintaining the store in neat order. Candidates must be available for a three-hour orientation period (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) on Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the bookstore. Candidates must also be available to work on Saturday and Sunday, January 14-15, 2006. Although scheduled work hours vary, standard weekday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; standard weekend hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work schedules will be provided.

Required qualifications: skill or experience in register or cash handling; good interpersonal skills; enjoy working with the public. Some experience in retail or bookstore work desired.

Persons age16 or 17 are welcome to apply but will need to have working papers to present at the orientation. Persons age 18 and older will need to have two forms of identification with them at the orientation.

In order to be considered interested candidates must visit our website at www.icjobs.org, search for and select the Worker Temporary position, and complete an online application. For questions contact Mike Bovi at 274-3958 or stop in at the Bookstore, 140 Phillips Hall, between Tuesday, January 3, 200 and Friday, January 6, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
