Free preschool, child care center for 3 to 5 year old child. Deadline is Thursday August 23rd @ 5pm if you are interested in the Head Start Program opening at Longview.
As part of an agreement that Longview has developed with the Head Start Program housed there, one slot each year is made available to a Longview employee. If no Longview employee requests the slot, the opening then becomes available to a full-time Ithaca College employee. The Longview employee who had requested the space for the 2007-08 year unexpectedly decided that she will not need the space.
Anyone who is interested in this preschool slot should contact Robin Davis, Assistant Director of Benefits, at 274-3245 by THURSDAY, AUGUST 23rd at 5 pm. The deadline for notifying the Head Start Program is Friday, August 24th. A lottery drawing will be held on Friday morning.
The Head Start program is a free preschool, child care center for 3- to 5-year old children. There are generally income eligibility requirements for Head Start, but these do not apply to this opening. Children participate in a variety of activities to increase their language, social, physical, and cognitive abilities. The hours of the program are currently 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The program follows the public school calendar for the most part, but it does not begin the first week of school.
Questions about the Head Start Program at Longview may be directed to Lita Remsen at 375-6324. Other questions should be directed to Robin Davis in the Office of Human Resources at 274-3245.
