Curator and Reggae historian Herbie Miller will discuss "Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change" in the Handwerker Gallery at 4:00 p.m. on September 18.
A traveling exhibition curated by Miller, Josh Chamberlain, and Catherine Amidon, and organized by Plymouth State University, Equal Rights presents social history through Jamaican art and music and engages social discourse on culture and social change. The exhibition documents how visual, musical and vocal artists from the Jamaican Diaspora have addressed social and political issues in America and the wider international arena.
This event is co-sponsored by the School of Business, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the School of Music and the Center for the Study of Race, Culture and Ethnicity.
