United Way -- Almost to the Goal!

Contributed by Karen McGavin on 12/12/2008

We are excited to share that we are moving even closer to our overall goal for the United Way campaign here at Ithaca College. We are over 87 percent and moving ever closer to our institutional goal of $70,000.

In these challenging economic times, it is wonderful to see our community dig down deep and try to help others through the great work of the United Way -- but we are not done yet!

That small contribution that you can make through payroll deduction will make all the difference in the world. Just a few dollars can mean so much. You could help agencies such as:

ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNCIL OF TOMPKINS COUNTY
COMMUNITY DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTER
DROP-IN CHILDREN'S CENTER
FRANZISKA RACKER CENTERS
GIRL SCOUTS SEVEN LAKES COUNCIL, INC.
HUMAN SERVICES COALITION
LIFELONG
MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION IN TOMPKINS COUNTY
NEIGHBORHOOD LEGAL SERVICES
Y.M.C.A. OF ITHACA AND TOMPKINS COUNTY
FOODNET

These are just samples of all of the wonderful agencies that your generous contributions support through the United Way.

Also remember that, when you give, you become eligible for a brand new Apple iPod! There will be three separate winners in the categories of first-time giver, repeat giver, and a giver who increased their contribution.

We will look to close this out by Friday, December 19th. Please complete your pledge card and send it intracampus mail to Karen McGavin in Job Hall. Thanks!

All the best from your co-chairs,
Sally and Mark
