Political consultant James Carville will serve as this year's Park Distinguished Visitor on Monday, November 1. Carville will give a public lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Emerson Suites followed by a book signing. The Campus Bookstore will have books available for sale at the event.
A frequent contributor to CNN, Carville is also a best-selling author, producer, and talk show host. Carville, known as "The Ragin' Cajun," was very outspoken about the recent oil spill in the Gulf.
The Park Distinguished Visitor series is sponsored by the Roy H. Park School of Communications is made possible through the generosity of the Park Foundation.
Past visitors have included Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington, journalist and author Tom Wolfe, journalist Christiane Amanpour and political adviser James Rubin, filmmaker Ken Burns, author and political satirist P. J. O'Rourke, president and CEO of the Public Broadcasting Service Pat Mitchell, journalist Bill Moyers, and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Clarence Page.
