The Business Idea Competition began two months ago. After weekly workshops, presentations, and ideas floated, 24 teams presented their business ideas to judges in a semi-final round one week ago. The semi finals cut down the teams to 12 for the final round.

The Business Idea Competition is sponsored by Chris Burch '76 to encourage students to venture into entrepreneurship. Mr. Burch has donated more than $85,000 to be used to support the competition. The money is used to award prizes to the winners of the competition, as well as to support these ideas if the teams decide to become real businesses.

The final competition is open to the public. Final presentations will take place Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 4:00pm in Emerson Suites. Competitors come from all over campus and are competing in the categories of: Website Service, Product, and Software. Refreshments will be served.
