Marella Feltrin-Morris (Modern Languages and Literatures) publishes poetry translationsContributed by Michael Richardson on 01/15/2012 Marella Feltrin-Morris, in collaboration with Chad Davidson, has translated three poems – “Before the Crows,” “Death of the Wild Boar,” and “Canzonetta on the Expanding Universe,” by Fabio Pusterla (1957- ) – that have appeared in the online journal Unsplendid: A Special Issue Italian - English - Italian. Pusterla is considered one of the major representatives of contemporary Swiss poetry written in Italian. In the Translators’ Note that accompanies the poems, Feltrin-Morris and Davidson discuss the tendency of any text to resist the gravity of its own language and surrender itself to translation. The original poems, translations, and Translators’ Note are available at http://www.unsplendid.com/3-3/3-3_frames.htm
