It is with great sadness that I must inform the Ithaca College community of the death of employee Neil Hatch, who passed away on Friday, April 6th after a long battle with cancer.

Neil was employed in our Facilities department at Ithaca College since April 2001 as a project lead for our residential areas and a proud, active member of Staff Council.  Neil loved Ithaca College and was a very energetic staff member who truly cared about his fellow workers.

Neil would have been 39 this Wednesday, April 11th and leaves behind three beautiful children.  Arrangements are incomplete at this time and we will inform you of them as soon as that information is available.  Our Human Resource department has arranged for EAP to be here on campus Monday, April 9th for anyone struggling with this very sad news.  Please do not hesitate to refer staff to our Human Resource department for this service.

The Ithaca College community extends its thoughts and condolences to Neil's family, friends and colleagues.

As we grieve over the loss of our colleague, Neil Hatch, I continue to be inspired by his participation on staff council, particularly his selfless encouragement of fellow workers. Neil spoke candidly, but from his heart. He expressed a deep appreciation for Ithaca College and focused his efforts toward positive change and future potential. I'm grateful for the time we shared.
