On Thursday, May 17, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord.
Forty days after Easter, we commemorate the resurrected Jesus being taken up to Heaven in the presence of his Apostles. Christ's bodily Ascension foreshadows our own entrance into Heaven and the restoration of the material world itself to the glory that God intended.
The Solemnity of the Ascension is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be celebrated in Muller Chapel this Thursday, May 17, at noon.
