Baldwin, who holds a B.A. in Art History and Studio Arts from Wesleyan University and a M.F.A. in Drawing and Textiles from the California College of the Arts, served as assistant director during the 2011–2012 academic year. She will continue the initiatives she has been working on, including implementing interdisciplinary programs to support curricula across campus, and developing gallery tours that contextualize art and visual culture in a broader artistic and intellectual context.
Baldwin will assume the position full-time starting May 22, 2012 following the resignation of current director Cheryl Kramer, who will step down as director May 31, 2012.
