This is a pretty poor time to be doing this maintenance--just when midterm
grades are due. A lot of faculty use the fall break to do their grades and post
them.

I concur that it is inappropriate to shut down Homer for close to 2 days during the narrow window that midterm grades may be submitted.

This maintenance time was agreed to by representatives of major offices across campus. The date on which the mid-term grades for full semester courses and final grades for Block I courses are due is on Wednesday, October 24 at 10:00 p.m., which is in keeping with college policy of 72 hours after classes end and excluding holidays and weekends.
