Looking for the perfect summer job? Be a counselor at IC's third annual Summer Music Academy (SMA), a quality summer music experience for hundreds of young musicians from across the nation and around the world!
SMA counselors will assist faculty and staff, serve as role models for students, supervise daily activities, and may perform some teaching duties. Counselors must reside in the dorms for the duration of the program and will earn a weekly stipend, in addition to receiving room and board.

SMA coordinators will review applications, conduct interviews, and make hires on a first-come, first-served basis. Hiring will commence on March 1 and continue through May, after enrollment has been determined.
Last year, the Summer Music Academy provided a quality summer music experience to over 320 students from 22 states and four countries. The program employed over 100 faculty and staff, including 30 current IC faculty members, 34 School of Music alumni, and 21 current IC students.
Programming consists of band, orchestra, voice, guitar, and jazz programs and is divided between two age-specific divisions. The High School Division (grades 10-12) takes place from July 14–27, and the Intermediate Division (grades 5-9) takes place from July 28–August 3. More information about SMA can be found here.
