FLEFF Screening - Silent Films with Live Musical Accompaniment

SHERLOCK JR. The classic Buster Keaton film with live music by Fe Nunn and Friends. Saturday April 6 7:00pm Cinemapolis and OCTOBER Aleksandrov and Eisenstein's classic silent film about the October Revolution, with live music by the Cloud Chamber Orchestra.


Sherlock Jr. (Buster Keaton, United States, 1924; 45 min.)  A film projectionist longs to be a detective, and puts his meager skills to work when he is framed by a rival for stealing his girlfriend's father's pocketwatch.  This event will also include one of Keaton's class short films.

October: Ten Days that Shook the World (Grigori Aleksandrov, Sergei M. Eisenstein, Russia, 1928; 103 min.)  The classic Soviet silent film depicting the end of the events of the October 1917 Russian Revolution:  The end of the monarchy, the collapse of the provisions government, and the triumph of the Bolsheviks under the leadership of V.I. Lenin. With live music by Ithaca's Cloud Chamber Orchestra.
