Summer pick-up softball games, Fridays at 3:00pm

Contributed by David Prunty

Summer softball is back for students, faculty and staff for 2013, NO EXPERIENCE or skill required!

We hope to have a wide variety of community members coming out every week to play informal "pick-up" games.

Summer softball games are a great way to practice wellness and make new contacts on campus, especially since faculty, students, and staff from many different areas and offices come out and play.

You do not need to have any experience to participate. You do not need to have played softball in high school, and even if you have never seen a softball (or a bat) in your life, you are still qualified to play! During the summer the games are played with special "extra-soft" softballs (seriously) so no one gets hurt. Extra gloves will also be available in case you do not have one of your own.

Games will begin on Friday, May 31, at approximately 3:15p.m. on the Yavits Field extension (down below Muller Chapel, the farthest one on the right). We will then continue the games every "early-dismissal" Friday for the rest of the summer.

We hope to see you out there on the field on Friday, May 31, at around 3:15 p.m.! If you have any questions, please contact Dave Prunty in Campus Life Services (274-3313,

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact David Prunty at or (607) 274-3313. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
