Staff Trustee Application Deadline EXTENDED to Friday April 11th, 2014

The staff trustee position on the Board of Trustees, currently held by Doreen Hettich-Atkins, is up for re-election at the May 2014 board meeting for a three-year term beginning June 1, 2014. 

Applications are being accepted through Friday April 11th, 2014. Interested persons should submit a letter of interest along with a resume to staff council chair Mary Knapp.  Materials should be sent to Mary in Job 214 [x41354] or mknapp@ithaca.edu. 

The staff trustee is a full voting member of the Board and is expected to share the staff perspective with the Board. The staff trustee is expected to attend the three scheduled trustee meetings each year during February, May, and October, as well as participate and march in Commencements and Convocations during May and August.

It is highly recommended that the staff trustee attend staff council meetings and/or meet with its executive board throughout the year.

The staff trustee is expected to sit on two additional committees. Preferences regarding committee participation are considered but there is no guarantee that assignments will match. Committee membership is re-assigned each year; assignments may or may not change from year-to-year.

     Buildings and Grounds

     Campus Life and Community

     Educational Policy

     Finance

     Institutional Advancement

     Investment

     Trusteeship

There may be additional meetings called as necessary, particularly for individual committees. The staff trustee may be asked to attend other events on campus when appropriate.
