Diana Cirullo and Silvia Magana selected for AAF's Most Promising Minority Students ProgramContributed by Melissa Gattine on 01/29/2013
AAF's Most Promising Minority Students Program is the premier advertising industry award program to recognize and recruit outstanding minority college graduates. The winners are invited to a three-day event in New York City in February to meet with some of the premier advertising agencies, media companies and advertisers in the world. The Most Promising Minority Students program not only honors the students, but also enhances their knowledge and understanding of the advertising field by offering networking, interviewing and immersion opportunities with industry professionals. Cirullo and Magana are both integrated marketing communications majors and were nominated by their AAF faculty advisor, associate professor Scott Hamula. Cirullo had previously been selected to participate in the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ Multicultural Advertising Internship Program, through which she interned in the digital media department at The Martin Agency in New York City. She has also held internships at powerHouse Books and Sodexo. Magana serves as president of the Ithaca College chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. While studying abroad in Rome she interned at Ekoes, a marketing communication social cooperative, and she has worked with the Downtown Ithaca Alliance as an events intern. She was previously awarded a Home Depot Most Promising Minority Students Scholarship.
