Ithaca College

 Srijana Bajracharya, School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, published a research article titled, “Colorectal Cancer Screening (CRC): Knowledge, Perceived Benefits and Barriers, and Intentions Among College and University Employees” in American Journal of Health Education, March Issue.

Publication of the article this month is especially important since March is the National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.  This study was conducted few years ago on the college and university employees which was funded by the IC Faculty Summer Grant.  Although the screening rate for the CRC among Americans has increased significantly in recent years, we, as an institution and health educators, still need to remind relevant community members, the importance and the benefits of CRC screening.
