Ithaca College physics professor Dr. Matthew Sullivan explains the ramifications of quantum levitation from floating roller coasters to mass transit, from quantum computing to lossless energy transmission.

Professor Sullivan was originally featured in a Travel Channel piece demonstrating how superconductors can help take roller coasters to the next level. This peaked the interest of local radio station, WHCU. The station interviewed Sullivan who explained the science behind the possibility of a floating roller coaster.

“The phenomenon of superconductivity is so unusual and counter-intuitive that it never ceases to amaze me,” Sullivan said.
