Asma Barlas, professor and director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, gave the keynote address at the fourth annual Ramadan Iftar, organized by Turning Point for Women and Families in New York on August 29.

A few weeks ago ITS announced that Webmail is being integrated with myHome, and that as of the end of the Fall 2009 semester, myHome will be the sole access point for Webmail. ITS is very pleased to report that literally thousands of new users have switched over to, or are at least exploring, the myHome environment since that announcement.

The first Sustainability Café of the fall 2009 series has the theme, "Power to the Planet: Using Large-Scale Solar Energy to Achieve CO2 Reductions."
This Café, being held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar and the Chemistry Seminar, will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at 4:00 p.m. in 112 Center for Natural Sciences.

Ithaca College Television's NewsWatch 16 was awarded first place in the college television competition by the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association. News director Bryan Mercer and producer Becky Goodling were in attendance.

Changhee Chun, associate professor in the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, finished his documentary, Lost Baggage. The film is a glimpse into the lives of migrant workers in South Korea.
He screened the film at the University Film and Video Association Conference (UFVA) Formal Screening in New Orleans in August.

The Ithaca College Sinfonietta is a newly formed orchestral ensemble open to all Ithaca College and Cornell students. We currently have room for oboe, bassoon, horn, trombone, and strings. Both music majors and non-music majors are encouraged to join--no audition is required.

REACH stands for Responsibility, Education, and Action for Campus Health. REACH is a student run organization committed to promoting, supporting, and educating our peers about healthy and fulfilling lifestyles at Ithaca College.
It's a new year and we have new goals! We are excited to learn, discuss, and educate our peers about healh topics including mental health, nutrition/eating disorders, stress management, alcohol and other drugs, sexuality, and MORE!
