Leslie Lewis, who has served as dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences and professor of English since 2008, has accepted the position of provost and vice president for academic affairs at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. She will begin at Goucher on July 1.

Ithaca College ITS is pleased to announce that Center for Health Sciences has now passed the Wi-Fi testing phase and is complete.  Faculty, Staff and Students using that building should now enjoy strong, stable, robust Wi-Fi service.

The entire ITS Wi-Fi project team is excited that we are keeping an aggressive pace and look forward to the next twenty-two buildings, as the largest wireless initiative in the school’s history moves along with success.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24, in Muller Chapel. Fr. Carsten P. Martensen, S.J., the Catholic chaplain, will be available for confession from 12:30 until 7:30 PM. Come and experience the healing power of the sacrament and the loving consoling forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

In coordination with the National Bone Marrow Donor Program's "Be The Match" initiative, the Ithaca College football team is sponsoring its fourth annual bone marrow donor screening event on Thursday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Emerson Suites B in the Campus Center.

On Friday March 20th come by IC Square to try Ithaca Dining Services' very own Smokin’ Good Gouda Mac N’ Cheese! This Mac N’ Cheese event is a sneak preview of the Mac N’ Cheese Bowl that is to be hosted at Ithaca High School on Saturday, March 21st, where individuals can vote for best Mac N’ Cheese in town! ALL proceeds from these sales will benefit FoodNet’s Meals on Wheels program. If you love Mac N’ Cheese and helping a cause, come down to IC Square and try it yourself!

Ithaca College ITS is pleased to announce that Campus Center is now ready to enter into the testing phase for their new Wi-Fi environment. Between now and March 24th, we are continuously testing the performance of the network and are asking the community for feedback on any issues.

Once testing confirms successful network performance, the building will move from ‘testing’ to a ‘completed’ status. This expected completion will mark the ninth building to enter the new updated wireless environment at Ithaca College.

Ed Tech Day 2015 - Tomorrow!

The campus community is invited to join us for our 25th annual Educational Technology Day tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th, from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Campus Center Emerson Suites and surrounding locations.  The event features a vendor showcase with national and regional  technology companies, a college showcase with faculty and staff showing how they are using technology in and out of the classroom, and a series of seminars by IT thought-leaders, faculty, vendors and others.  The event is free and open to the public, including all Ithaca College faculty, staff and students.

David Muir, class of 1995, received two honors from Ithaca College on Friday, March 13, in a ceremony held at the Paley Center for Media in New York City. He and ABC News colleague Diane Sawyer were recognized with the inaugural Jessica Savitch Award of Distinction for Excellence in Journalism, bestowed by the Roy H. Park School of Communications. President Tom Rochon also presented David with an honorary Doctor of Letters degree, conferred by the Ithaca College Board of Trustees upon recommendation of the Honorary Degree Committee and the Faculty Council.

Bill Sheasgreen, director of the Ithaca College London Center, has announced his plans to retire after forty years of dedicated service to Ithaca College.  Bill and his wife Lynne will be visiting campus this week to assist in orientations for the Summer and Fall 2015 London Center groups, and we are having some events to celebrate his retirement and thank him for his many years of service.

As you begin to plan for Commencement/Senior Week 2015, please keep in mind the following on-campus housing guidelines. All campus residents except for graduating seniors, Resident Assistants, and Circle Apartment residents are required to vacate their rooms no later than 3:00 p.m. on May 9, 2015 unless they receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life to remain. For students with a final exam scheduled, or final papers/projects due on Monday, May 11, 2015, the deadline to vacate their rooms will be extended until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Students with a Monday final exam, paper or project due should notify their RA.
