Mental health consists of our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It encompasses how we feel, act, think, handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Factors that influence mental health problems are biological factors (genes or brain chemistry), life experiences (trauma or abuse), and family history of mental health problems.

The Online Performance Review process for 2014-15 will be available for staff beginning April 1. All staff members can access the self-assessment form through Employee Self-Service in Parnassus. The main enhancement to the process will be the addition of 11 core competency areas for comments and feedback. Staff will be able to provide examples of how they demonstrate mastery of these core areas. Supervisors will be able to provide feedback and overall ratings by initiating the performance review through Manager Self-Service for the following competencies:

Last week we announced that Aetna has partnered with PayFlex to administer Ithaca College Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. As a result of this change our Aetna Representative will be on campus several times over the next 6 weeks conducting informational sessions on PayFlex and to answer any questions employees may have on the change to PayFlex. The following informational sessions will be held in the Office of Human Resources, Garden Level, Peggy Ryan Williams Center. No RSVP necessary.

On April 16, 2015, the Office of Student Employment will be hosting a luncheon in Emerson Suites to thank Ithaca College’s outstanding student employees for their dedicated work. All current student employees will receive a personal invitation to come, and we encourage supervisors to attend with their student employees.
Here is where we need your help - Since it was such a huge success last year, we would like to again put together a video to be played during the event with pictures of your awesome students and/or any kind words of appreciation you would like to share with those students. It’s never too early to start planning for your retirement. In fact, the earlier you start, the better positioned you are to make decisions and adjustments later on. In the early stages of your career and life, the most important action for retirement planning is just to start saving.

Staff Council, in conjunction with the Office of Human Resources, would like to remind benefit-eligible staff to review Paid Time Away (PTA) balances in Parnassus Employee Self-Service. Reviewing balances now will allow ample time to plan the use of vacation before new annual grants are applied on June 1st. To see balances, go to Parnassus:
