Cohort Graduation Figures
First-Time Full-Time Freshmen
How graduation rates are calculated: The group of first-time full-time freshmen who matriculate at Ithaca College in a given fall semester is defined as a cohort. No new students, such as incoming transfer students, may be added to the cohort (beginning with the 1991 cohort, adjustments to the cohort are permitted in the case of death; permanent disability; or joining the armed forces, foreign service, or a church mission). Each cohort is monitored for six years to determine the graduation rate after 4, 5, and 6 years. Note that a number of the students who graduated in five years can be considered as having graduated on time since they were enrolled in extended degree programs including our 4.5 year Music Performance/Music Education degree program or one of our 3-2 Chemistry or Physics Engineering programs.
