Submission Guidelines.
I. Click will accept any work of creative nonfiction with journalistic integrity. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital to these stories because they’re about other people’s lives. They are held to a higher standard than other journalistic works because they are not written under deadline pressure. Descriptions in the story should either have been witnessed by the writer or confirmed by more than one source. Notes and tape-recorded interviews should be available as evidence to any naysayer.
II. Click is happy to help you develop an idea or begin researching and writing your story.
III. Articles you have written for classes can be accepted, but only if you have permission from the sources of your story, and only if the story has not been submitted to any other publication.
IV. There are no strict limits on word count or content, but we are looking for well-written stories with a consistent and discernable tone, and with interesting characters, surprising plot twists, humor or poignancy. Articles are subject to the kind of heavy editing that exhausts two or three red pens.
V. If you’re interesting in submitting something to Click, e-mail Stacey Coburn at scoburn1@ithaca.edu.
