This section provides an overview of the common accounts used by the majority of Ithaca College community members. Many systems are accessed with the Netpass username and password. Individual departments may also use specialized applications that require a different login from any other system. For those system, refer to the appropriate department for help.
The first account all faculty and staff members receive is the Parnassus account for the Financial Services and Human Resources system. The first account students receive is for the HomerConnect student information system. Faculty and staff members use their Parnassus account to access online payroll information and need that account username to activate their Netpass account. Students use their HomerConnect account to access the student information system, and will also use the HomerConnect user name and password to activate their Netpass account. Students who work on campus will also use the Parnassus system to access and submit payroll information. The majority of systems on campus have self-service password reset options available, usually accessed on the login screen for each system.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records for all students. Typically, schools may disclose, without consent, "directory" information such as a student's name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, honors and awards, and dates of attendance. Under FERPA, a student may request that the school not disclose this information by completing a nondisclosure form, available through the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life. Students who submit a nondisclosure form may have trouble accessing some services or systems, and should contact the Service Desk for additional assistance.
