Students
Students can post content to the web using Web Profile Manager (WPM) for creating and publishing an ePortfolio.
ePortfolios Using WPM
An ePortfolio is a collection of work, proof of skills, and reflections on lessons learned. An ePortfolio provides a rich view of individual progress, learning, and achievement over time. ePortfolios allow students to showcase learning over their academic career. Because of the different types of information that can be stored, ePortfolios give viewers a more detailed understanding of the student then a traditional resume. The ePortfolio tool allows students to easily present content on the web without having to know anything about web page design.
All students can use WPM to create ePortfolios by logging in using their Netpass username and password. Students do not have access to the News and Blog features of Web Profile Manager. Students can set access rights for ePortfolio viewers enabling students to determine who sees what and when. The WPM account will remain active until approximately 90 days after the affiliation with the college has ended. Students can then sign up for an alumni ePortfolio which will last indefinitely if renewed annually.
Student Websites
Students who want to create a Web site using free-form html should use one of the many free or low-cost Web-hosting solutions available through an Internet search.
