Frequently Asked Questions
When I look at the network settings under system preferences on my Mac, I don't seen an IP address. What happened?
On some Macs that have been migrated to the new network, the "ethernet" device in System Preferences > Network will not show an IP address, even though the computer really does have a valid IP address. Another way to verify the IP address is to go to the Go menu > Utilities > Network Utility and look on the Info tab. If the IP address (which should start with 172.26) is displayed there, the computer has a normal, working internet connection.
