Since early April, we have been experiencing issues with sending emails. The most frequent symptoms include 1) it seems to take a long time to send an email, a long time equaling several seconds instead of immediately and/or 2) password failed/password retry messages. We have been investigating these problems since they were first reported and have not found the culprit. We think the issues...

When I think about what is happening and what to blog about this week I immediately thought about the NCUR conference. Although it is not directly related to the Helpdesk, ITS was heavily involved in planning for the conference and technology was successfully used throughout the event! Last week we put out a notice in Intercom about NOT upgrading your browsers. Why would we do that? Isn't it always better to upgrade and stay current? Aren't we always telling you to patch your systems?

The short answer is updating a browser is different then installing operating system updates and security...
