In support of the Ithaca College on iTunes U project, ITS has recently purchased an Olympus digital voice recorder and an iFlip Ultra video camera. This equipment is now available to faculty and staff members through the ITS Helpdesk loaner equipment program.
The Olympus digital voice recorder captures stereo sound from meetings, interviews, and important lectures, and allows users to download and create Podcasts for later listening. This voice recorder offers up to 136 hours of recording time with its 512 MB of internal flash memory.
The iFlip video camera is simple to use and allows for one-touch recording. Its compact size makes it the ideal choice for shooting video on the go. With four buttons, it’s easy to record, zoom, playback instantly or delete videos. Flip Video’s internal flash memory holds up to 60 minutes of high-quality video.
Both devices allow users to easily download files directly to a computer for editing or viewing. Once the information has been captured, consider distributing it through itunes U!
To reserve this equipment, go to /computing/reserve/equipment/ and look under the Miscellaneous Long Term Equipment category.
