New Media Consortium

What is the New Media Consortium?

Ithaca College is a member of the New Media Consortium (NMC), a not-for-profit consortium of learning-focused organizations dedicated to the exploration and use of new media and new technologies. Its hundreds of member institutions constitute an elite list of the most highly regarded colleges and universities in the world, as well as leading museums, key research centers, and some of the world's most forward-thinking companies. For nearly 20 years, the consortium and its members have dedicated themselves to exploring and developing potential applications of emerging technologies for learning, research, and creative inquiry.

The NMC at Ithaca College

To actively participate and take advantage of the benefits of the NMC and share with colleagues outside the college, there is a group Campus Advisory Board Members assembled in late 2009.  One of the initial activities will be to discuss and understand the 6 technology trends and to brainstorm their implications at IC.

Anyone in the IC community can create an account on the NMC web site and can subscribe to their very informative technical and Pedagogical Discussion List, NMCTAB.
