Office 365 Calendar
Ithaca College calendar management accounts are provided by Microsoft Office 365, a hosted Exchange solution that provides a tightly integrated calendar and e-mail system. "Hosted" means that Microsoft manages and maintains the servers and the service is available over the Internet. Although ITS does not maintain the primary calendar servers for the campus community, ITS staff manage the calendar system and are responsible for account provisioning and de-provisioning.
All faculty members, staff members, students, and some departments are provided with individual accounts on the IC calendar system, Office 365. Individual users access their online calendars through a variety of methods, such as web browsers, client software, and mobile devices. ITS provides support for the following methods of accessing calendars:
- Chrome, Safari, and Firefox web browsers on a Macintosh running OSX 10.5, 10.6, or 10.7
- Chrome, Internet Explorer (ITS recommends IE version 8 or higher), and Firefox web browsers on Windows XP or Windows 7
- the Microsoft Outlook client included with Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows and Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac OS X
- iOS (iPhone, iPad, iTouch) and Android mobile devices
To access your calendar through a web browser, log into myHome at https://myhome.ithaca.edu and click on the orange Outlook Web App (OWA) icon in the IC Services Launcher on the left side of the myHome window. Next, click on the calendar icon in the bottom left corner of the window. OWA is the online application provided for web access to Office 365 calendar accounts.
The Microsoft Outlook email and calendar client software application is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, which is available on all college-owned computers. Windows users with Office 2010 have the Outlook client. Mac users will need to upgrade to Office 2011 in order to get access to the Outlook client. Older versions of the Office suite for Mac users did not include the Outlook client.
