E-Mail Configuration

Every mobile device comes with its own e-mail client. The e-mail client can be configured to access the IC e-mail system using these general settings, which may vary from device to device, as a guide:

  • Server Type: IMAP
  • Incoming Server (IMAP): icmail.ithaca.edu, port = 993
  • Outgoing Server (SMTP): icmail.ithaca.edu, port = 25
  • Incoming Secure Connection Type: SSL
  • Outgoing (SMTP) Secure Connection Type: TLS
  • Incoming Username: Netpass username
  • Outgoing Username: Netpass username
  • Refer to the device instructions provided by the vendor for additional details.

Typically, Netpass passwords are saved on the device. This password will need to be updated after every Netpass password change (approximately every 120 days).
