Before we begin, here are just a few things you need to know about the Sony Mavica:

Although you can buy formatted disks in the MS-DOS format, it is easier to let the camera format the disk for you. Just buy unformatted disks.

Size disk: 3.5 inch floppy
Type: HD (High Density)
Capacity: 1.44 MB

Image recording format: The image data recorded with this camera is compressed and recorded in JPEG format. The file extension is "jpg".

The number of images you can store on a disk depends on the image quality you select, standard or fine

Standard: 30-40 images

Fine: 15-20 images
 

Power source for camera: This camera comes with 2 rechargeable Infolithium batteries and a charger - one fully charged battery will last for over an hour - a full charge = leaving the battery on the charger for 1 hour after the charge light goes off. This takes approximately 225 minutes (3 hrs, 45 minutes charge time)
