Honorary Program

Starting in April 2007, our organization will begin a Lambda Pi Eta Honorary Program.  Students eligible for this program must be Park School communication majors, have a 3.8 GPA, have completed 30 credits, and be in good judicial standing. These members are not official members of Lambda Pi Eta, but are honorary members who can participate in events and programs just like official members.  Since official membership requires 60 credits, most official members inducted are second semester juniors and seniors (though some sophomores are inducted as well).  This produces a high turnover as members soon graduate.  The honorary program helps increase our membership base, allow more students to be involved with the organization, and create a strong understanding of the organization necessary for future leadership teams.

Once honorary members earn 60 credits, if they have maintained a 3.8 GPA they will be inducted into Lambda Pi Eta as official members.  If honorary members do not meet the 3.8 GPA requirement or do not complete 60 or more credits they cannot become official members.  Students who have not been inducted into the honorary program can still be inducted into Lambda Pi Eta as official members.
