ebrary on an Intel Mac
Having trouble installing the ebrary reader on your Intel Mac? ebrary is working on a universal application for the plug-in on Intel based Macs, but until that is released you can do this:
- Navigate to the "Applications" folder.
- Single click on the "Safari" application to select it.
- Crtl-click (or right click) on "Safari"
- Choose "Duplicate" from the contextual menu.
- Single click on the "Safari copy" application to select it.
- Crtl-click (or right click) on "Safari copy" to select it
- Choose "Get Info" from the contextual menu
- Under "Name & Extension", highlight "Safari copy.app" and rename to "Safari-PowerPC.app"
- Click the checkbox labeled "Open using Rosetta" to select this option and close the "Get Info" window
- Navigate to Applications, and launch the newly created "Safari-PowerPC"
- Install the ebrary reader.
- If you encounter an error indicating you have insufficient privileges to run the installer, you will need to repair your permissions. Directions can be found here

You could also run a PowerPC version of FireFox.
