The Music Center houses the collection of musical materials owned by the Ithaca College Library. The collection includes three types of materials: printed music, books about music, and recordings (sound and music-related video). The collection of sound recordings consists of compact discs, LPs, and cassettes. We also have recordings of concerts featuring the School of Music's major ensembles from the past 20 years. Concerts from April 1982 to April 1998 are on cassette; concerts from December 1998 to the present are on CD.

In addition to the collection, the Music Center has a music reference desk, staffed by library staff and students. We provide assistance to patrons with research, and can help you find what you're looking for in the music collection. See the music reference desk hours below.

The Music Center is located on the third floor of the Gannett Center. The books and scores are located in the music stacks, on the lake side of the floor, and the audio & video recordings are housed in Multi-Media Services on the Towers side of the floor. Reserve materials for music classes are also kept at the Multi-Media Services desk.

Computer workstations with access to the Library Catalog and the Internet are located throughout the area, as are study carrels and tables. Photocopy machines are also available on this floor.
