ebrary

ebrary is a searchable database of full-text ebooks available from the Ithaca College Library.

To SEARCH ebrary requires only a browser and internet connection.
To READ the content of ebrary books requires the ebrary Reader.
To USE EBRARY INFOTOOLS requires free registration and login.

To download and install the ebrary Reader, click the "Get ebrary Reader" link on the ebrary Welcome screen.

Download/Install of the ebrary Reader on a Windows machine works best in Internet Explorer; with a fast connection it all happens so fast one hardly notices. The Reader can also be set up in other browsers (pretty quick in Firefox) -- follow the instructions you get as you follow along from the "Download ebrary Reader for [Windows/Macs] now" link. You will also find technical specifications for using ebrary on the download page.

Once the reader is installed, you simply click on the title link for the book you wish to access -- from either an ebrary search results screen or from the Ithaca College library online catalog record for an individual e-Book.

InfoTools includes a personal bookshelf, bookmarks, marginal notes space, highlighting, and many useful links to external resources like dictionary, encyclopedia and map lookup sites. To use these tools, register for fee by choosing "Sign In" above the tabs in the left column of the ebrary search screen, then "Do you need to create a new bookshelf?" Note that you will need to have cookies enabled to use these features.

NOTE: Some users experience difficulty getting access from remote locations -- for example, some dial-up service may be too slow to load whole books before timing out. For these users, we recommend accessing ebrary from on campus.
