Martha Bowers Residency

Senior residents of Longview and Ithaca College students will have an opportunity to work on a creative dance project with Martha Bowers, nationally recognized choreographer/ director and producer of large scale community events and site-specific productions that engage culturally diverse communities in dialogue about socio-political issues. The Bowers residency is looking at issues of creativity and aging, funded by a grant from the Linden Center for Creativity and Aging at the Gerontology Institute, Ithaca College. Bowers was on campus in February and met with modern dance students as well as Longview residents. She is returning to campus in October--rehearsals will be held the week of October 18 and will be at Longview and Ithaca College. Transportation will be provided. Public sharing will be on October 24 at 2:00 p.m.
