Cyndy Scheibe

Project Look Sharp Executive Director, is Associate Professor of Psychology at Ithaca College where she teaches courses in developmental psychology, media literacy, and television research.  Dr. Scheibe currently serves as the director of the CRETV lab and television archive housed at Ithaca College in the psychology department.  She has been conducting research on television content and children's understanding of media messages for more than 20 years.  Dr. Scheibe was a founding board member of the National Association for Media Literacy Education, and co-authored Core Principles of Media Literacy Education.  Her other recent publications include “Piaget and Power Rangers: What Can Theories of Developmental Psychology Tell Us About Children and Media?” "20 Questions About Children and the Media" (2007), and  “A Deeper Sense of Literacy: Integrating Media Literacy in the K-12 Classroom,” American Behavioral Scientist (2004).

Chris Sperry

Chris Sperry

Director of Curriculum and Staff Development for Project Look Sharp, has taught middle and high school social studies for over 30 years in Ithaca, New York, including visual sociology and media production. He is the author of numerous curriculum kits including Media Construction of Presidentail Campaigns, Media Construction of the Middle East, Media Construction of War, and Soviet History through Posters, and Economics in U.S. History. He earned the 2008 NCSS Global Understanding Award, and was the 2005 National PTA and Cable Leaders in Learning award winner for media literacy.

Sox Sperry

Project Look Sharp Program Associate, has been a teacher and curriculum designer for the past 32 years. He is author and co-author of Project Look Sharp's document-based history kits: Media Construction of Presidentail Campaigns and Media Construction of the Middle East, Media Construction of Chemicals in the Environment, Media Construction of Resource Depletion, Media Construction of Endangerred Species, and Global Media Perspectives

Project Look Sharp Programs & Operations Coordinator, has a Masters in English and has taught Middle School and High School English and English Media. Sherrie has also designed Middle and High School English curriculum and was a technical writer for many years prior to teaching.

Project Look Sharp Technology Integration Specialist for the PLS Summer Institute, Roger is an instructional technology staff developer with the Ithaca City School District. He has more than 15 years experience working with teachers to effectively integrate technology with teaching and learning.

Armin Heurich

Armin Heurich

Project Look Sharp Technology Specialist for the PLS Summer Institute, Armin has been a Teacher Librarian at Ithaca High School since 1997, where he also co-teaches the English Media class. He is a web designer, musician and an independent videomaker, and has been actively involved with media arts since the early '80s, as both a producer and educator.
