ITHACA, NY — A father whose son died by suicide will speak about his experiences as part of Ithaca College’s recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day. Carlo Troise will discuss “The Call We Never Got” on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in Textor 101. His talk is free and open to the public. (more)
08/26/2008Stewart Goodyear To Present Free Recital In Thaler Concert Pianist Series
ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College’s annual Rachel S. Thaler Concert Pianist Series will bring eminent pianist Stewart Goodyear to campus for a free concert on Friday, Sept. 12. Beginning at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music, the program will offer a Mozart sonata, Ravel’s “Gaspard de la Nuit,” Samuel Barber’s “Excursions,” and Rachmaninov’s second sonata. Goodyear will also present a master class on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center. (more)
08/26/2008Ithaca College Student Voted The Best In ABC News Superstar Intern Competition
ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College senior Revital Roza and her funk-influenced band The Rozatones took top honors in ABC News’s battle of superstar interns. After hearing Roza and her band perform against rival singer and fellow intern ShaLyse Walker on the August 17 broadcast of Good Morning America Weekend Edition, thousands of viewers voted for the best performer. Roza and her band — composed entirely of Ithaca College students — were named the winners on the August 24 show. (more)
