| Students are expected
to attend all scheduled rehearsals and to perform in the concert. In accordance
with the guidelines in the Ithaca College Undergraduate Catalog, each student
is allowed an absence during the semester for religious holidays, or for
a verifiable emergency.
- If you will be
absent from a rehearsal for a legitimate "academic" reason (see below),
you must notify the director in writing at least
24 hours prior to the rehearsal.
- You will be allowed
to miss one rehearsal per semester for an academic reason.
- You absolutely
must get your music to the rehearsal. You
may leave it outside the door of Studio 2315, or you may give it to
a member of the band
- Your grade will
be lowered if
- you miss a
rehearsal without prior written notice or
- your music
is missing from a rehearsal.
Your absence and
the absence of your music has a negative effect on all members of the
band.
- Academic reason
(one per semester)
- A lecture, recital,
master class, test, review session, or any "special" event that is
important to you and your major area of study.
- Because these
"special" events are usually scheduled in advance, check your calendars
and plan accordingly.
- For any unforeseen,
unfortunate developments, such as a death in the immediate family, you
must notify the Office of Student Affairs.
- If something suddenly
occurs that precludes attending rehearsal, you can call me in my office
(4-1934) or send an e-mail message Beth
Peterson prior to the class you will miss.
