Ithaca College Theatre and the Ithaca College School of Music will celebrate French 20th- century opera with productions of two musical dramas: Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon (Cinderella) and Maurice Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges (The Child and the Wild). The two remaining performances are February 25 and 27 at 8:00 p.m.
Conducted by Brian DeMaris and directed by David Lefkowich, the performances will be held in the Hoerner Theatre in Dillingham Center. The production will be sung in French, accompanied by English supertitles.
Ithaca College brought a team of professional theatrical flyers to campus to teach technical theatre students how to fly student opera performers, resulting in stunning effects for 2009’s annual collaboration between Ithaca College Theatre and School of Music.
