Director of Ithaca College Orchestras, Jeffery Meyer, conducted the Thailand International Composition Festival closing concert on July 14, 2012 in Thailand.  This is his third international performance this summer, previously conducting in Russia and China.

Since 2002, Jeffery Meyer has been the Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic in St. Petersburg, Russia one of St. Petersburg’s most innovative and progressive ensembles.  He is also the Director of Orchestras at Ithaca College School of Music.

The Troika International Festival 2012, organized and executed by Meyer and sponsored by the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, is the first of its kind in St. Petersburg.  The event is presenting a four day collaborative journey with three of the world’s cultural tours de force, and bringing together musicians and composers from China, the United States and Russia.

Jeffery Meyer, Ithaca College Director of Orchestras, will spend the next two weeks as a member of the guest conducting faculty at the Beijing International Composition Workshop at China's Central Conservatory in Beijing.  He will be working with young composers in residence at the Conservatory, conducting nearly a dozen world premiere performances of works written by the composition fellows, and coaching Chinese musicians in the chamber group setting. 

He will also give a lecture entitled "Professionalism and Career Development for Young Composers".
