The Faculty

Faculty members in the School of Music include specialists in virtually every orchestra and band instrument and in voice, piano, organ, and guitar. Faculty members perform regularly on campus in recitals and chamber music concerts as well as nationally—in New York, Boston, Washington, Los Angeles—and internationally—in Buenos Aires, Moscow, Seoul, Tel Aviv, Wellington, Warsaw, Johannesburg, Dublin, Montreux, and Florence.

Three faculty performing ensembles – the Ithaca Wind Quintet, Ithaca Brass, and Ariadne String Quartet – tour regularly.

Ithaca's music professors are also noted for their regular contributions to professional publications and organizations in music theory, composition, musicology, and music education. In addition, each year they present numerous clinics and workshops at professional conferences and educational institutions throughout the country. As vast as their performance experience is, however, you'll find the faculty's personal attention continues after your lesson, rehearsal, or class time. They conduct interviews with prospective student teachers to match you with your student teaching assignment, coach you through graduate school applications, or share news of a promising concert in the area. They are committed to developing your talent and meeting your academic goals.
