Graduate Assistantships

The School of Music offers graduate assistantships in a variety of areas.

For 2006–7, graduate assistantships are available in:

Bassoon, Oboe, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone
Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Tuba/Euphonium
Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass, Classical Guitar
Voice, Piano, Composition, Music Education, Conducting

Assistantship awards cover at minimum the cost of full tuition for up to four semesters, the time typically needed to complete a Master's program. Most awards include a stipend. The awards for 2006–7 will have a cash value of approximately $34,000 over the two-year period.

All students who are accepted into the graduate program may apply for an assistantship. Assistantship applicants should audition in person and complete all requirements for admission. Assistantships are available to both full-time students and summer-only music education students.
