Hotels in New York City can be quite pricey. Nevertheless, affordable accommodations are certainly available, especially for those who are willing to have a roommate or use shared bath facilities. The conference hotel is the Marcel; those of you for whom comfort is a great concern should probably try to make reservations there. DINING NEAR BARUCH

There are many restaurants nearby to Baruch College on Lexington and Third Avenues.
  • Indian restaurants are particularly plentiful; there are about 20 Indian restaurants on Lexington Avenue between 26th and 28th Streets.
        

  • On Third Avenue between 25th and 28th, there are restaurants of various other cuisines, including Japanese, Chinese (two on the corner of Third and 25th), Vietnamese, and Afghani.
        

  • For simpler fare, there is a diner on 24th and Lexington, and there are many fast food places on 23rd Street to the west of Lexington Avenue.
